Fundraising for Walden Park

It may not appear obvious to anyone on the outside, but work has been steadily progressing for the project to restore the speedway venue at Walden Park in Dry Well Road, Corrigin.

One of the big hurdles to be overcome was the lack of funds to buy fittings and fixtures to repair the toilets. Adequate toilet facilities must be provided before the venue can be approved by the Health authorities and before any events can be arranged.

Attempts to obtain a major grant for the project have so far been unsuccessful but, rest assured, we will keep trying.

In the meantime, West Coast Speedcars and friends have run three successful sausage sizzles at Bunnings in Ellenbrook and we are now moving confidently ahead in getting some quotes on Public Liability Insurance. This has all been very time consuming which is why you may not have seen a lot of action happening at the track.
